In 2010 Renee Bach, a high school graduate bestrode the pearl of Africa under the guise of being a medical doctor. Her victims were hapless children who were ’treated’ by the charity ‘Serving His Children’ which first began as a feeding program. The only crime committed by the underprivileged and malnourished minors was that of being poor and unable to afford basic healthcare. While Renee Bach was not a licensed medical doctor, 105 children died under her ‘care’ from 2010-2015, a claim she has refuted. Amidst public outcry in Uganda, Renee Bach left the country.

This petition calls out the reckless and discriminatory documentary film released by HBO on 26th September 2023. The documentary by HBO in this case calls her a ‘White Savior’ and attempts to present a nuanced film on how Renee Bach, with good intentions, ended up killing hundreds of Africans. This petition therefore calls on:

1. HBO take cognisance of the fact that the ‘Saviour Complex’ documentary is degrading, discriminatory & disrespectful to the victims and a promotion of white supremacy.
2. Any and all monetary proceeds made from the ‘Saviour Complex’ documentary to be channelled to the victims of Renee Bach.
3. The Ugandan government through the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) acts as amicus curiae in the ongoing case filed by an attorney in Uganda. 
4. The United States Attorney General's Office institute investigations and subsequent criminal proceedings against Renee Bach for the alleged crimes.
