If these regions are compromised, it will lead to irreversible loss of biodiversity. Deforestation, urbanization, and inadequate environmental policies are some of the key factors leading to habitat degradation. According to the Nova Scotia Department of Lands and Forestry, thousands of hectares of forest are lost annually, and this figure is projected to increase if proactive measures are not implemented.

To counteract these threats, we urge the provincial government to:

1. Keep our wildlife branch active and reinstate all the workers within. They are the key to keeping and maintaining our environment. Strengthen and enforce existing environmental protection laws to safeguard habitats.
2. Allocate more funding for conservation programs aimed at restoring and preserving endangered habitats and species.
3. Develop sustainable land use plans that balance development needs with environmental conservation priorities.

4.Keep our information centers open, to help visitors enjoy our province.
