STOP THE $15 BILLION GREGADOO DATA CENTRE
Protect Gregadoo's rural landscape, our homes, our water, our farmland and Wagga Wagga's future.

We are calling on Wagga Wagga City Council, the NSW Government and the relevant planning authorities to reject the proposed 1.4-gigawatt CDC data centre at Ashfords Road, Gregadoo.

This is not a small development.

CDC is proposing a $15 billion hyperscale data centre complex consisting of four enormous buildings, with 384 backup diesel generators, 6,400 tonnes of diesel storage, large-scale batteries and substantial electricity and infrastructure requirements.

And it is being proposed in a peaceful rural area containing homes, agricultural land and a landscape that should not be sacrificed simply because it happens to sit close to a major electricity connection.

The proposal itself identifies concerns including:

noise and visual impacts
water demand
loss of agricultural land
security and infrastructure impacts
impacts on the surrounding rural landscape
Three rural homes are reportedly within 500 metres of the proposed development, with nine nearby.

This is not an appropriate  or wanted location for an industrial facility of this unprecedented scale.

WE SHOULD NOT HAVE TO SACRIFICE OUR RURAL COMMUNITY FOR A DATA CENTRE.

Adding a massive industrial complex, hundreds of diesel generators, thousands of tonnes of stored fuel and large-scale batteries is not an option.

And once this development is approved, we cannot put the rural landscape back.

WE ARE NOT EMPTY SPACE ON A MAP.
Gregadoo is our home.

It is our farms.

It is our land.

We are asking decision-makers to put the community before greed and reject this proposal.

We call on Wagga Wagga City Council and the NSW Government to reject the proposed CDC data centre at Gregadoo and protect the rural landscape from an industrial development fundamentally incompatible with its existing character.
