The Issue

We, the residents of Washington/New Preston neighborhood formally oppose the proposed installation of a cell tower at 17 Warren Road, New Preston, due to concerns for our community's health, safety, aesthetics and property values

Reasons for opposition are as follows:

1. Health and Safety Risks

- Numerous studies suggest potential health risks associated with long

term exposure to electromagnetic radiation emitted by cell towers.

- Children, seniors, and individuals with certain health conditions may be particularly vulnerable.

- Lack of conclusive scientific evidence confirming safety warrants caution.

2. Impact on Property Values

- The presence of a cell tower can negatively affect the visual appeal and attractiveness of our neighborhood.

- Decreased property values and difficulty in selling homes near the tower site.

3. Aesthetic and Community Character

- The tower’s appearance may disrupt the natural or historic aesthetic of our neighborhood.

- It could serve as an eyesore, diminishing the overall charm and character of our community.

4. Environmental Concerns

- Construction and maintenance may disturb local wildlife and natural habitats.

- Potential environmental degradation caused by infrastructure development.

5. Inadequate Community Input

- Residents were not adequately consulted prior to the application.

- We request transparent communication and community engagement before any decision is made.

6. Alternative Solutions

- Exploration of less intrusive alternatives such as rooftop antennas, existing structures, or small cell technology.

- Use of less conspicuous locations that minimize impact on residents and aesthetics.

We respectfully urge the relevant authorities to reconsider this application and prioritize the well-being and preferences of our community. We request a public hearing or forum to discuss this matter further.

Thank you for your attention to this important issue. We look forward to your understanding and support in safeguarding the health, safety, and character of our neighborhood.

Sincerely,

On behalf of concerned residents of Washington/New Preston Neighborhood.
