Mississauga Property Tax Hike Approved – Now It's Time to Vote Them Out in Oct 2026

Mississauga Property Tax Hike Approved – Now It's Time to Vote Them Out in Oct 2026
The Issue
Despite our strong push and many residents speaking out, the City of Mississauga has approved a 5.21% total property tax increase for 2026 (. That's on top of big hikes in recent years, more than 25% overall in the last 3 years.
Many people in Mississauga still haven't heard this message clearly. Families, seniors, and working people are struggling with higher costs everywhere—groceries, homes, and bills—and these taxes make it worse.
We have one real choice now:
Stay quiet and accept more increases, or
Stand up and make our voices count.
This is an election year. The municipal election is on October 26, 2026. Let's use our votes to demand change.
Reject the current council that keeps raising taxes.
Support new candidates who promise to freeze property taxes for at least 3 years—we've already paid enough (over 25% in the past 3 years).
Don't vote for individual "freelancers." Vote for those who run as a group or team—they are more likely to work together for real cuts to waste and lower taxes while protecting key services.
If you haven't signed yet: Please add your name now and share it with friends, family, and neighbors. Every signature builds pressure.
If you have signed: Thank you! Keep sharing the petition, talk to people about the election, and watch for candidates who support affordability.

Together, we can change this broken system. Mississauga deserves leaders who put taxpayers first.
Thank you for caring and acting.
