I, like many others, am a regular user of Facebook. Recently, I began noticing a disturbing trend on my feed - an influx of sex chat ads and inappropriate videos. I am not alone in my frustration as a large section of the Facebook community is subjected to this unwanted adult content. Advertisements should offer value and enhance the user experience, not make users uncomfortable and disrupt their social interactions.

I'm 29yrs old that doesn't mean I want my feed to be exposed to adult contents, this is so embarrassing and against my personal values.

Research shows that exposure to adult content can contribute to harmful effects, especially among younger users who might unwittingly stumble upon such ads (American Psychological Association, 2017). To make the matter worse, Facebook's algorithms can make it difficult for users to entirely avoid these adult advertisements, leading to an inevitable exposure.

As a global platform, Facebook has a responsibility to create a safe and respectful environment for all users. We need to tell Facebook, loud and clear, that these adult content ads are unacceptable. They must ensure their advertisement policies strictly prohibit the display of such content or risk compromising the safety and comfort of their users.
