Stop the Pro-Palestinian March on Story Bridge, Brisbane

Stop the Pro-Palestinian March on Story Bridge, Brisbane
The issue
I love this country I was blessed to be born in and believe in a peaceful future for all Australians. But like many, I am growing increasingly distressed by the erosion of Australian values, culture, and safety — a shift being felt more strongly as tensions from overseas conflicts are brought onto our streets.
A pro-Palestinian march is planned to take place on Brisbane’s iconic Story Bridge on Sunday, August 24. While I fully support the right to free speech and peaceful protest — I am deeply concerned about the ongoing disruption these events are causing to everyday Australians.
The Story Bridge is a major transport link. Hosting a politically charged demonstration here is not only disruptive, but potentially dangerous — with risks of traffic chaos, public disorder, and heightened tensions.
We have already seen concerning outcomes at similar rallies in Sydney and Melbourne, including: The burning of Australian flags; vandalism of public property, defacing Australian symbols and creating division.
Calls for the abolition of Australia, which is far removed from the cause of peace and justice.
These are not isolated incidents — they point to a growing pattern that is alarming to many Australians, regardless of background or belief. Protests of this nature have increasingly fostered fear and unrest rather than dialogue or understanding.
We must draw a clear line between legitimate, peaceful protest and acts that threaten the cohesion and safety of our communities.
Therefore, I respectfully urge Brisbane City officials, magistrates and the Queensland Police Force to not authorize this march on the Story Bridge. I
Let’s protect the peace and unity of Brisbane. Let’s preserve the integrity of our landmarks and the safety of our people. Let's stop the division that is created by bringing overseas conflict to our front doorstep.
Sign this petition if you believe a Pro-Palestinian protest on the Story Bridge should NOT go ahead. Support the country you live in or go live in the country you support.
