Together we are a group of more than 300,000 people who care about Channel 4.

From Channel 4 News, to The Great British Bake-Off, to Googlebox and so much more: this great and beloved institution that belongs to us needs to be protected from being sold off.

All 300,000 of us want to #SaveChannel4

But in a few weeks’ time the Government will be asking MPs to vote on a new law to sell off Channel 4.

We need to show MPs they need to #SaveChannel4 - NOT sell it off.

No one likes bullies.  Bullies push people around - they use their power to dominate and get away with whatever they want .

I see the move to privatise Channel 4 by the current government as bullying behaviour - not prompted by concern for the needs of the viewing public - who own Channel 4 and love Channel 4 - but by the will to control and suppress what threatens them.

They're actively trying to silence voices and stifle creativity through defunding and withholding crucial resources.  

It's an old and depressing story. It is not a story of 'levelling up' - it never has been.  That's just a shiny new slogan, empty of meaning.

If we don't protect Channel 4, we'll lose it. 
The same with our brilliant NHS - it will be privatised over time if we don't protect it. 

You have to look after and protect what you love.

Channel 4 has been a source of fearless investigative journalism - holding power to account, bringing shifty dealings in back rooms into the light.

Channel 4 News - because of its independence - is unafraid to ask the questions we need them to ask - questions about Partygate, corrupt PPE deals, our NHS, cost of living, the Climate emergency, Grenfell, housing - all the troubles of our time.

We need to know what's happening from reliable sources. 

Channel 4 has nurtured and supported fresh voices from every corner of this country producing exciting, original and bold programming for everyone to enjoy. 

Channel 4 celebrates difference: It's for all of us, whoever we are, however we choose to live.

If we want to have a media increasingly controlled by those who grasp and hoard power then we can just kick back and wait. Because that's what's happening. 

I think there are a lot of us who don't want that and I think we can do something about it.

We are doing something about it..
