Thank you to each and every one of you who took the time to come out and show your support in our collective effort to stop the MRC Pontiac waste-to-energy incinerator.   

This first Friends of the Pontiac community gathering in Thorne demonstrated the strength of  the community and the shared commitment we have to protect our environment, health, and the well-being of future generations. Your voices echoed with passion and conviction, sending a powerful message that we are united in our determination to safeguard our community from potential harm.

In the face of such a critical issue, your active participation will make a significant impact. This meeting not only raised awareness but also showcased the power a community has when it stands together for a common cause.

As we move forward, let us remain vigilant and proactive in our efforts ensuring that the concerns and values we shared during this gathering are effectively communicated to the relevant authorities. By continuing to work together, we can make a lasting difference in preserving the integrity of our environment and securing a healthier future for all.

Be proud Pontiac!  It is heartening to see the community come together in such a meaningful way, we look forward to our continued collaboration in facing future challenges.
