We have reached 202 signatures! Thank you for standing with me. But while we gather names, the system we are trying to fix is letting us down in real-time.
The Latest News from Barre:
A 19-year-old from Massachusetts was just sentenced for trafficking fentanyl and cocaine out of a home in East Barre. Despite being caught with 213 grams of cocaine, 67 grams of fentanyl, and two loaded guns, she was sentenced to "time served" and sent back to Massachusetts on probation.
Even more alarming? While she was out on bail for the first bust, she was caught again in Barre City with more drugs and another stolen handgun.
This is the definition of a "Revolving Door." Under current laws, out-of-state traffickers view Vermont as a "low-risk, high-profit" playground. They are caught, credited for a few months of jail time, and sent home—while our neighbors in East Barre are left holding community meetings, wondering how to keep their children safe.
How we reach 5,000:
We need the Vermont House Judiciary Committee to see that we are not just a few "unhappy residents." We are a growing force.
1. Share this update: If every one of our 202 signers recruits just 5 friends, we hit 1,000 by tomorrow.
2. Email the Committee: Tell them about the Barre case. Tell them that "Time Served" is not a deterrent for traffickers bringing poison into our state.
