Stop the “Pause” & Establish the Firearms and Ammunition Technical Advisory Committee

The Issue

To our esteemed Firearms and Ammunition Industry business leaders,

Our Second Amendment right and the industry that supports it are currently facing significant threats. The US Commerce Department's enforcement of a detrimental "Pause" on exports is adversely impacting businesses of all sizes within our industry. There are alarming signals suggesting that the Commerce Department leadership is formulating policies that could exacerbate the damage to our industry and impede our global competitiveness. Immediate action is imperative to avert such repercussions. It is essential to document the financial hardships our businesses are enduring and respond proactively as an industry.

Step 1: To address the lack of technical advisory counsel and ensure accountability within the Department of Commerce, we advocate for the establishment of the Firearms and Ammunition Technical Advisory Committee (FATAC) as outlined in Section 1754 of the Department of Commerce Export Control Reform Act (ECRA). This committee will help empower our industry with a knowledgeable voice and provide essential expertise to the Department of Commerce to help effectively navigate regulatory hurdles.

Gaining the support of a minimum of 30% of the industry is required for establishing the FATAC. This petition is designed to gather the requisite backing and evidence the endorsement from businesses. We invite you to sign the petition and provide your company name along with the size of your business in the comment section in support of establishing the FATAC.

Step 2: It is crucial for us to grasp the financial challenges you are presently encountering or expect to face should the "Pause on Exports" continue or evolve into official policy. By uniting through this petition, we can assess the harmful effects of these unconstitutional actions on our industry and convey them to our congressional representatives. Under Secretary Alan Estevez informed Congress that they estimated the financial ramifications of their imposed "Pause" to be $10 million. This assertion is either a farce or, even worse, a deception. Assist us in enlightening our Commerce leaders about the true costs we are bearing.

Required Action:  Please sign the petition and scroll down to the Comment window labeled “Reasons for signing..” and include your company name, size and the financial amount you feel this Pause is costing your business.  We intend to gather all the information and provide it to our congressional advocates and publish the combined Industry results in support of stopping the “Pause” and establishing the FATAC.

I am Brenda Dorne, the CEO Of Cheytac USA, a small business with less than 100 employees in West Tennessee.  Biden’s Commerce policies have cost our small business more than $15M and counting.  Please join me in taking this action.  Your active participation is indispensable, and we genuinely appreciate your dedication and support in protecting our industry.
