Stop the parole of James Williams III

The Issue

On December 28, 2002, James Williams III brutally murdered his father (James Williams Jr.) and his step-mother (Cynthia Lassiter Mangum Williams). He was sentenced to 2 life sentences without the possibility of parole. According to a new law, anyone under the age of 18 who commits a crime cannot be sentenced to life without parole. This change to the law now allows James to become eligible for parole since he was 17 at the time of the murders. My husband, Zeno Mangum, and family have been told for years there was no chance that he would get out. However, on Saturday, April 15, 2023, Brenda Rankin, Cindy's sister, received a letter in the mail stating James Williams III would be released tentatively on May 16, 2023. We desperately need your help to keep James in prison.
