Stop the Paid Parking Plan in Saratoga Springs, New York - Before It’s Too Late!

The Issue

The city of Saratoga Springs is planning on introducing a seasonal paid parking plan in the spring of 2024. This plan was proposed by Department of Public Works Commissioner Jason Golub in December of 2023.

Under the proposed plan, the city would change over 1,300 on-street spaces to permit parking or 2-hour free parking spots. An additional 170 parking spaces in Walton, Putnam and Woodlawn city garages would become permit-only spots, with the rest turned into paid parking, which would be done via pay stations or mobile pay options.

Ultimately, this plan would have a negative effect on the residents and businesses of Saratoga Springs. If passed, this plan will...

  • Reduce visitation to our city and hurt downtown Saratoga businesses
  • Create more traffic and confusion in the downtown area
  • Create more city government and over $1 million in annual administrative costs
  • Cause all Saratoga residents to register their vehicles with the city in order to park downtown to avoid tickets and pay to park
  • Exclude residents in surrounding communities the ability to park for free
  • Force residents in the surrounding communities to pay for parking
  • Create an unwelcoming and exclusive environment downtown

STOP THE PAID PARKING PLAN BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE. SIGN THE PETITION TODAY AND CONTACT THE CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS!

Don't delay! Call the Mayor and Public Works Commissioner Jason Golub and voice your opposition to the paid parking plan.
