Stop the Overdraft Fee Hike - Protect Consumers, Not Banks!

The Issue

A critical law protecting Americans from outrageous bank fees is under attack.

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) previously introduced a rule capping overdraft fees at $5 per transaction, down from the staggering $35 banks used to charge. This rule was a lifeline for millions living paycheck to paycheck, stopping small mistakes from turning into financial disasters.

But now, the Senate has voted to overturn this protection, siding with big banks over everyday people.

If the House doesn’t stop them, banks will once again be free to drain the accounts of those who can least afford it.

Overdraft fees hit low-income Americans the hardest. Without this cap, missing a payment by a few dollars could mean racking up hundreds in fees. The CFPB’s rule ensured fairness, but if Congress repeals it, more people will be pushed into payday loans and deeper financial hardship.

We can't let banks profit off struggling families.

Sign to tell the House to stand with consumers, not corporations. Protect the overdraft fee cap, because no one should go broke over a cup of coffee or a gallon of gas!
