The issue

As residents of the Northern Beaches, we don't want our peninsular overdeveloped by developers that flout council rules.

We need the Northern Beaches councils to continue to fight developers going to the Land & Environment.

This is currently happening at Bilgola Beach. For more than three years, local residents in Bilgola Beach have been vehemently opposing a proposed development at 2A Allen Avenue. The owner of this property has submitted plans that seek to transform a standard residential block into a four-level dwelling with 24 rooms, a tennis court, a rooftop pool, and a four-car underground car park.

This development is excessive, massively altering the character of our beloved community.

More than 40 residents, along with the Northern Beaches Council, have formally objected to this proposal. Our objections stem from genuine concerns about the impact this development will have on our neighbourhood and setting a precedent in the area. Our serene locality, characterised by its natural beauty and community spirit, is under threat.

Twice, the development proposal has been challenged in the Land and Environment Court. Even with such strong opposition, the battle continues, as the developers relentlessly pursue their plans.

This is not just an issue for Bilgola Beach residents but for anyone who values considerate urban development.

We need everyone who cherishes the unique environment and tranquillity of Bilgola Beach to stand with us against this rampant and inconsiderate development.

The threat of overdevelopment is a growing concern for the Northern Beaches, and we need to set a precedent by ensuring our community is preserved for future generations.

Please help us safeguard Bilgola Beach from this overambitious development.

Sign this petitionto urge Northern Beaches Council to continue the fight against over development and to urge the Land and Environment Court to deny these residential development plans and protect our neighbourhood's integrity and charm.
