Stop the Outsourcing of American Jobs to Overseas Companies

Stop the Outsourcing of American Jobs to Overseas Companies
The Issue
I share this story as an individual who has fallen victim to the corporate decision of outsourcing American jobs overseas, not once but twice. The threat looms over me once again as uncertainty always surrounds my current position. A vast number of jobs - from inside sales, customer service, supply chain, to IT support - that were once pillars of the American workforce, are increasingly being moved offshore. These job displacements are rapidly eroding our domestic job market and eroding opportunities for Americans to find gainful employment.
Companies profiting in the millions or even billions are maximizing their benefit at the expense of American workers. They employ overseas workers at a fraction of the cost, often leading to subpar quality of service. The American worker is squeezed out of the system, deemed too costly by companies driven by pure profit and little empathy.
In a recent study, 14 million US jobs were identified as being at high risk of foreign outsourcing (source: Federal Reserve Bank of New York). This statistic underlines the urgency of the situation. This is not a future issue; it's affecting us right now. And decent, hardworking people like myself are paying the price.
We are thereby imploring lawmakers to take into consideration the plight of countless American workers, and to enact legislation that disincentivizes the outsourcing of jobs overseas. Companies should invest in the American workforce that has invariably contributed to their success and prosperity. Join this cause, sign this petition. Together, let's protect American jobs, and ensure a more stable and prosperous future for ourselves and our fellow citizens.
