Stop the noise nuisance in Stow-Cum-Quy and neighbouring villages

Stop the noise nuisance in Stow-Cum-Quy and neighbouring villages
The Issue

Villagers in Stow-Cum-Quy, Bottisham, Teversham, Lode and The Wibrahams are having their peace disturbed by noisy outdoor music events held at The Missing Sock pub and Quy Mill Hotel.
Many have chosen to live in these rural villages to enjoy the peace and quiet of the countryside. On some of the hottest days and nights of the year, we can't even have our windows open or get our children to sleep because of excessive noise coming from these loud outdoor raves and events.
If these events are allowed to continue, there is nothing to stop them from increasing in number. Between the two venues, we could end up having every weekend disturbed by these outdoor parties. The area will gain a reputation for being noisy and eventually this could make it an undesirable place to live and could even affect house prices.
The aim of this petition is to see how many people are affected by these noisy events so we can then get councillors and Environmental Health to see we have a problem that needs sorting out. Perhaps licenses and leases can be reviewed or at the very least, get strict monitoring of noise levels.
These events are more suited to urban industrial areas, which is why they always used to be held in warehouses. Small countryside villages are not an appropriate location for them.
Let's act now so we can ensure next summer is more peaceful.
If you are a local, please opt to make your details public so that the council and Environmental Health can see how many residents this is affecting.
Also, please contact the Environmental Health Officer dealing with this. Facebook shows many people were upset by the noise of the last event but only 3 people reported it.
Please contact: chloe.mappledoram@scambs.gov.uk or 01954 713024. The more of us who contact her, the more likely we can get conditions added to these venues' licenses.
Did you know that currently some of these events have run till 3am, while others can be held from noon to 11pm... that's 11 solid hours of noise!
Thanks for taking time to support this issue.
