STOP THE MISLEADING PETITION CIRCULATING REGARDING THE DEMISE OF OLOBOR LION

The Issue

We, the Maasai herders, are deeply troubled by the false accusations and misleading petition circulating regarding the unfortunate demise of the Black Rock Pride lion, Olobor.

We categorically deny any involvement in this tragic event and vehemently oppose the unjust demands outlined in the petition.

As stewards of the land and custodians of wildlife, we have coexisted harmoniously with nature for generations.

Our cultural heritage and traditional practices emphasize respect for all living creatures, including lions.

Contrary to the baseless claims made against us, there is no incentive or benefit for our community to indiscriminately kill such majestic animals. It is crucial to recognize that the Maasai way of life is deeply rooted in principles of conservation and sustainability.

We do not hunt or consume wild game, and our dietary customs reflect a profound reverence for nature. The notion that we would harm a lion for personal gain or pride is not only offensive but entirely unfounded.

We urge those responsible for spreading this misinformation to cease their efforts immediately and to refrain from inciting further hostility towards our community.

The livelihoods of Maasai herders, as well as the well-being of our livestock, should not be subjected to unwarranted punishment for a crime we did not commit.

For cooperation and mutual understanding, we welcome constructive dialogue to address concerns related to wildlife conservation and human-wildlife conflicts.
