For 24 years, I have watched as the character of our beautiful town of Ranfurly, New Zealand, continues to adapt to modern necessities while preserving the integrity of our natural landscapes. Solar energy is undoubtedly an important step toward sustainable living, yet the proposal for a large-scale solar farm in our area feels like an imposition on the community that cherishes its untouched natural beauty. 

This is our last attempt to stand up and fight.  

While solar energy is crucial, the placement should be made with due diligence, aiming to minimize environmental impact and the community's disruption. Alternative sites, such as unused industrial areas closer to where the electricity is needed, should be explored. 

We have one last opportunity to make our voices heard. It's time to stand up for our town and show the council and Helios that we care about Ranfurly's future. Let’s embrace sustainable solutions that respect both our environment and our community’s essence.
