Stop the industrial factory exploitation on protected farmland

Stop the industrial factory exploitation on protected farmland
The Issue
Farmers have been part of this Glen Valley community for generations. They've always cherished the fertile lands that have allowed them to contribute and thrive as hardworking farmers.
However, this peaceful way of life has been threatened by West Creek Farms Ltd., an entity hiding behind the façade of a "farm" to run a large industrial factory on legally protected farmland. This is not just about zoning laws—it’s about the community, the environment, and the future of Glen Valley.
For decades, West Creek Farms Ltd. has bypassed regulations by exploiting legal loopholes. They've always trucked in 100% of the raw materials they process and then export to large companies.
This deception not only undermines the integrity of genuine farming enterprises but they also pose a significant environmental threat to our region.
This industrial processing plant sits precariously on a rural floodplain that includes a protected Class A Salmon habitat. The harmful activities are poisoning the soil and the protected fish habitat. The damage could be irreversible or take decades to reverse.
It is crucial that the Township of Langley recognizes that rezoning this land for industrial use is not an option that we can accept.
Our community did not sign up to live next door to a heavy manufacturing plant. The permanent rezoning will mean losing our farm heritage, our natural resources, and our community cohesion forever.
I urge everyone who values environmental sustainability and fair business practices to join us in this fight.
Sign this petition to demand that the Township of Langley says NO TO REZONING and forces the West Creek Farms Ltd. factory to relocate to a designated industrial area. Let us protect our farmland, our rivers, and our community from irreversible damage.
