Since we last spoke to you, we have been busy promoting your 'Save Our Seals from Flying Rings' campaign' across the UK.

I say your campaign as we always wanted you to be, and feel part of something that is going to make a HUGE difference to our precious seals.

You have taken the first step in showing your support by signing the petition which has now accrued a phenomenal 42,647 signatures.

That figure is incredible in such a short time but we cannot become complacent by sitting back.

We need more signatures so please can you share the petition link far and wide again.

Please encourage people to sign as it definitely gets the campaign noticed.

An example of this, has been our success by getting local Councils to ban the sale, purchase and use of flying rings within their local authority area.

Did you know it only takes one letter to your local councillor for such action?

Let me give you a recent example where one letter was sent to Councillor Rosie Moore at Cornwall Council by a supporter named Joyce.

Rosie recognised the problem and sought support from her fellow councillors. She used various resources to place before a full council meeting and unanimously Cornwall Council banned flying rings.

Sounds a lot of work eh?

It wasn't.....far from it.

We have created a guide to seeking councillors support and a template letter to send to councillors. That's exactly what Joyce did and lo and behold, Rosie did the rest utilising a host of resources that we had created.

Is this something you can do?

Is there anything stopping you doing it?

Probably not!

Everything you need is waiting for you on the Seal Alliance website including guidance for approaching retailers selling flying rings, various posters, PowerPoint presentations with explanatory notes as well as many other resources.

We want you to become involved and work alongside us exactly as Joyce did. She is buzzing after achieving an awesome result with Cornwall Council.

It only took one email to start the ball rolling.

We have also secured the support from many more large and small retailers who have now stopped selling flying rings. You can easily do the same as us, by reading our guidance on the Seal Alliance website.

Sharing the problem is halving the problem. 

We need to raise awareness by sharing our concerns as nobody buys a flying ring with the intention of harming wildlife. We recognise that and that's why we need you to support us as the campaign grows and gathers momentum.
