Hi everyone,
WOW, what a start we’ve had on our campaign and that’s down to YOU showing your support and placing your signature on our petition.
But why does your individual signature count?
The answer is simple; you are speaking up for our precious seals that do not have a voice…we are their voices and after every signature, their voices get louder.
We have accrued over 39,600 signatures to date and this has clearly been noticed across a wide cross section of the community.
Media coverage has been phenomenal, with articles in several national newspapers and primetime TV news coverage. These are just two examples:

Journalists have reacted swiftly to a pre-launch information pack created and circulated to well over a 300 organisations and groups across the UK.
This information was vital as we moved towards the official public launch of the Save Our Seals from Flying Rings campaign on Monday 26th May 2025 (Spring Bank Holiday).
In fact, we want to share it with you as it contains everything needed to assist the campaign as we move forward into 2025.
So, we've uploaded it onto the UK Seal Alliance website: The Seal Alliance and you can be one of the first to actively view and use the resources available.
It contains a guide on how to use the many resources within, so please feel free and be bold in being that voice I mentioned earlier!
As we gained traction, we were contacted out of the blue by Ben Maguire MP who wanted to table an Early Day Motion before the Houses of Parliament. This was astonishing news and something we could only have dreamed of so early on in our campaign…. I told you…your signature is powerful and gets us noticed even at the very heart of UK Government.
We’ll keep you updated as it progresses and we are really grateful to Ben for his support.
So, what next?
In a nutshell accruing additional support, increasing petition signatures, delivering presentations, visiting retailers, lobbying MP’s and making sure our precious seals are having a voice…. thank you so much for your voice too.
We at the UK Seal Alliance, are giving our seals a voice. Now, it's time to share that voice with the public, who can support our campaign and petition. That public voice is getting louder and stronger every day and it’s clearly saying, or rather shouting, that flying rings are unacceptable
So please share our petition far and wide to all your friends, family and every network contact you have.
