For those of you who don't know of this series containing two main books and various others that are apart of the same universe, it is entirely the fetishization of rape and stalking with the label of 'dark romance', the author of said books, H. D. Carlton, has publicly come out and stated she intends to create a movie upon said books. Not only this, but make the movie as close to the source material as possible, this would also most-likely include the sexual assault scenes. By singing this petition, I hope to bring awareness to this topic and in the best scenario, stop the making of the movie in general. There are real victims that have to go through these events everyday and it ruins their lives, sometimes even ending them. This is not something to be romanticized and published like another Romeo and Juliet, because it's quite the opposite. The official statement by said author has been posted on her TikTok and Instagram, I personally don't recommend going out and purchasing the book yourself to read as you are putting money in H. D. Carlton's pockets, if you truly want to know the contents of this book, read it on a website online where you do not have to purchase it, or watch a video of another individual going over the book themselves, you can find such videos on YouTube and various other platforms. I do not condone harmful actions against the author, such as doxxing and death threats. We only get one voice in this world, so use it to stand up for what you believe in, and what I believe in, is stopping this harmful content from even getting the chance of being released.
