STOP THE GREAT WALL OF FRANKSTON!

The issue

What do people most love about Frankston? Tens of thousands of residents and visitors can’t be wrong. It’s our award-winning beach and waterway.

Why would anyone want to create a wall of overwhelming high-rise buildings cutting off the city from its most valuable assets? THIS IS MADNESS!

Currently there is an Amendment c160fran to implement the new Frankston Structure Plan which proposes "preferred" building heights in the Waterfront Precinct of 12 storeys, which can be exceeded. If this plan is implemented, a great wall is the potential legacy for us and future generations.

What will make our city great is the will and the means to bring to life the vision of Frankston as an enviable coastal place to live, work and visit.

Further action

Right now, there's one recently approved 14 storey high-rise in the waterfront precinct, one neighbouring high rise refused at VCAT and another appealed and awaiting a decision at VCAT.  Our small group of volunteers is has been actively involved in the VCAT appeals. You can help us continue to work towards protecting our coastal city by transferring a donation, no matter how small, via this secure mycause payment platform link where all funds come directly to us.

Note all donations made by selecting Donation on the petition page are entirely optional and 100% goes to Change.org so we suggest choose Share instead.

A big thankyou to all our wonderful supporters for signing and sharing this petition via email, message, tweet or Facebook.
