🚨Important Update on the Ashford AGC – June 13, 2025🚨
Hi everyone,
We’ve got an important development regarding the proposed Adult Gaming Centre at 39 Church Road, Ashford.
Spelthorne Borough Council has just released a formal statement confirming that while Golden Slots has submitted a licence application, it is currently INVALID. The applicant has been informed of the correct procedure they must follow to validate it.
🗓️ What happens next?
Once the application is properly submitted and validated, there will be a 28-day window for public comments and objections. The Council has stated this process will be clearly communicated to residents, and I will also ensure everyone here is notified the moment it goes live.
⚖️ Planning permission update:
While the AGC’s planning application was rejected by Spelthorne Borough Council three separate times, it was unfortunately overturned on appeal by the Government Planning Inspector after a public hearing in March. However, that approval came with a strict condition: operating hours must be limited to 9am – 11pm.
This is important context for any future licensing objections — as licensing must consider the protection of children from harm, prevention of crime and disorder, and impact on local communities.
