Thank you to everyone who’s signed and shared this petition, your support has made a real difference and shown just how much Ashford cares.

We now have a limited window to take the next step:

The application for a gambling licence at 39 Church Road is now officially live and open for public objection.

This is our chance to stop the AGC from opening, but we have until 27 August 2025 at 11:59pm to act.

✍️ HOW TO OBJECT

We’ve made it as easy as possible.

The Ashford Residents Association (ARA) has published a simplified guide and 6 ready-to-use objection templates on their website with everything you need to make your voice heard in just a few minutes.

📥 Visit the ARA website to download everything you need:

You can also still access the full guide directly:

📧 Send your objection to:

licensing@spelthorne.gov.uk

Don’t forget to include your name, address, and postcode — it won’t be accepted without them.

(You can also use the official form on Spelthorne’s website.)

🕒 Operating Hours — Setting the Record Straight

Some residents have raised concerns about the AGC operating 24/7, but let’s be absolutely clear:

⛔ 24/7 opening was refused.

✅ The Planning Inspector approved opening hours of 9am to 11pm only — this is a legal condition attached to the planning consent and cannot be changed without a further application. This licensing application does not override that condition.

🏠 Join the Movement

This campaign is about more than just one application — it’s about protecting Ashford’s future.

If you care about where our town is headed, consider joining the Ashford Residents Association (ARA). It’s a great way to stay informed, get involved, and have your say.

Every valid objection counts.

Every new voice strengthens the community.

Let’s stop this AGC for good.

With thanks,

Nik
