"We, the residents, voters, and taxpayers, formally demand that the City of  Vero Beach and Indian River County immediately terminate their contract(s) with Flock Safety, deactivate all automated license plate reader (ALPR) cameras installed in our community, and remove these devices from our public roads, that we the taxpayers paid for. We did not vote for these surveillance systems, we had no public debate or input on their implementation and believe they violate our 4TH Amendment rights. This mass surveillance at its core and leads to an erosion of our privacy. The continuous, 24/7 tracking of vehicle movements on public streets turns everyday travel into a monitored and scrutinized action for law-abiding citizens."

"These systems were installed without meaningful public debate, explicit community consent, or clear oversight regarding who accesses the data, or who the data is sold to.  Unchecked data collection can be shared with outside entities or federal agencies without a warrant or court order. Further, taxpayer money funds invasive technology rather than proven, community-based public safety and support programs which communities provide for with their tax dollars."
