I am writing this petition because the expansion of the mosque in Standford le Hope, Essex poses significant challenges and concerns for the local community. Currently, there is no suitable facility to support this expansion, especially in terms of parking. The area is already experiencing a shortage of parking, and increasing the number of visitors without a proper parking solution will exacerbate the issue, affecting residents and businesses alike.

Local shops and businesses will inevitably suffer due to the increased traffic and lack of parking spaces. The influx of vehicles will not only make it difficult for customers to access these businesses but also deter potential clients who may find it challenging to navigate the crowded streets.

Moreover, the local schools, nurseries, and parks, which are vital parts of our community, will be impacted by the sheer number of vehicles. The safety of children attending these schools and nurseries will be at risk, given the expected increase in traffic flow. Parks will no longer be serene and accessible havens for families due to parking congestion and increased foot traffic.

We urge the local council to reconsider the planning permissions for this expansion. It's crucial to evaluate the infrastructure and ensure that any development does not strain our community's resources or compromise the well-being of the residents. Alternative locations that can accommodate the required facilities and parking without disrupting the existing communityshould be explored.
