In the IDO amendments for Upzoning, the attached amendment was found (suspiciously and potentially illegally added after the EPC hearings).  What this proposes is to change nearly every single family zoned property in the entire city to R-L.  Why is this important?

Because when you re-zone a property it removes the 3% personal property tax cap, allowing the county to reassess your taxes based off market rates.  

That could mean massive property tax increases for many AND it could very likely displace thousands of senior citizens and low income families.

This is the time to act.  Please contact your city councilor and demand answers.

Ask why am I being the-zoned without my consent or notice? Wasn’t this an opt-in process?

Ask why the proposal hasn’t been investigated by the inspector general or been audited since it was not available for public comment during the IDO process?  

And ask why do they want to remove the 3% cap on your personal property taxes with the zoning change?
