Stop the EU support for Israel, we don't want to be complicit

Stop the EU support for Israel, we don't want to be complicit
The Issue
Letter for Ursula von der Leyen and Kaja Kallas on their stance on Israel.
Dear president of the European Council and HIGH REPRESENTATIVE/VICE-PRESIDENT, Foreign Affairs
We are writing to express our deepest concern in regards to your stance on Palestine, and your continued support for Israel on behalf of the citizens in the European Union.
First of all, you are not elected by the citizens of Europe so stop expressing solidarity with Israel on our behalf.
Secondly, but more importantly, stop making the citizens of the European Union complicit in support for apartheid and illegal occupation of the Palestinian territories, as clearly stated by the International Court of Justice.
Furthermore, you are making us complicit in war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide. On 7th May 2025 UN-experts gave the following assessment:
“While States debate terminology - is it or is it not genocide? - Israel continues its relentless destruction of life in Gaza, through attacks by land, air and sea, displacing and massacring the surviving population with impunity,” the experts said.
“No one is spared - not the children, persons with disabilities, nursing mothers, journalists, health professionals, aid workers, or hostages. Since breaking the ceasefire, Israel has killed hundreds of Palestinians, many daily - peaking on 18 March 2025 with 600 casualties in 24 hours, 400 of whom were children.”
Joseph Borell, who was Kaja Kallas' predecessor, accused Israel of genocide in Gaza on 9th May 2025 and said Israel is:
"Carrying out the largest ethnic-cleansing operation since the end of the second world war in order to create a splendid holiday destination”.
Lastly, you are working closely with Israel and Benjamin Netanyahu, a man wanted for war crimes and crimes against humanity, and you consider Israel a close ally.
It is not too much to ask of you to comply with International Law and rulings from the ICJ.
Kind regards,
Citizens of the European Union
