Julington Creek Plantation has plans to tear down the skatepark located at the Sportplex. They plan to replace it with six pickle ball courts. During the May 24th board meeting, they said the only other place possible for pickle ball courts would be where the pond on Davis Pond Blvd is, next to the playground. We’d like to convince them to pay the extra $75,000 they said was necessary to fill the pond, and place the pickle ball courts there, so the skatepark can remain as it is. It does not make sense to take out one amenity in order to replace it with another, when there is the ability to have both. If the Julington Creek Plantation wants pickle ball courts as much as the board says they do, then they should be willing to spend that extra money, and keep everyone happy.
