I have always cared deeply about the environment and the wildlife that calls it home. In our local woods, there's a thriving ecosystem that's under threat. A builder wants to cut down these woods to make way for new homes, putting both our community and the environment in jeopardy. This is not just about the loss of trees; it's about the endangerment of dozens of species that inhabit this area, including birds, deer, possums, raccoons, and owls. Particularly troubling is the potential impact on the endangered Long Eared  Bat, a species that plays a critical role in maintaining ecological balance.

For those of us who live here, these woods are more than just a plot of land; they are part of our identity and community. The prospect of losing such an essential part of our environment is deeply worrying. It goes beyond us and involves preserving the intricate balance of nature that exists within the wooded area. Destroying these woods for development will have long-term negative consequences not only for wildlife but also for us residents who rely on the natural space for recreation and relaxation.

We understand that development is often necessary, but there must be a way to achieve progress without sacrificing the natural habitats that are vital to our well-being. We propose exploring alternative locations for the planned housing development—areas already cleared or less impactful to sensitive ecosystems.

By standing together as a community, we can show that there is strong opposition to this development and advocate for the protection of these woods.
