Today, this sanctuary is under dire threat. Plans to build over 500 houses on Anlaby Common will irreversibly destroy this rich wildlife habitat. Developers have already started deploying flail mowers to clear the land, ensuring the demise of the existing wildlife before planning permission is even granted. This preemptive action threatens the biodiversity that has thrived there for generations.
