URGENT REQUEST FOR STOPPING GHAZALEH'S DEPORTATION AND EMERGENCY STAY OF REMOVAL OPSÆTTENDE VIRKNING

Ghazaleh is an Iranian woman seeking asylum in Denmark. We are calling on the Danish government to overturn its decision to deport her back to Iran at high risk of being tortured and executed. Iran has a long and well-documented record of executing political dissidents, protesters, and others on national-security or religious charges. Human rights organisations including Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International, Iran Human Rights (IHRNGO), and HRANA regularly report executions of people convicted of charges such as moharebeh (“enmity against God”), baghi (“armed rebellion”), or “corruption on earth.” These charges are frequently applied to protesters, political activists, journalists, and members of opposition groups after unfair trials that often rely on forced confessions obtained under torture.

Denmark has a strong tradition of upholding human rights and providing sanctuary to those fleeing persecution. Deporting her would betray these values and have devastating consequences not only for her but as a precedent that could affect many others in similar situations. 

It is vital that Ghazaleh remains in Denmark, where she has initiated the process of rebuilding her life. We ask the Danish immigration authorities to reconsider her case with compassion and fairness, reflecting Denmark's role as a leader in human rights protection. Let us not turn a blind eye to those who need our help the most.
