Friends of Downtown Menlo Park,

We did it! The City Clerk has counted 3,440 signatures and delivered our petition to the County for verification. (Only 2,104 valid signatures are required to qualify.)

Once the signatures are verified, the City Council will decide whether to place the measure on the ballot or simply adopt our ordinance outright.

If they adopt it outright, Menlo Park residents immediately gain the right to vote on any proposal to repurpose the downtown parking lots. Adopting the ordinance outright—rather than waiting for the next election—would spare the city months of uncertainty and division. 

It's important that people learn that Council has this option. Please help us get the word out by donating here. Funds spent now could eliminate the need for a costly campaign later.
