*PETITION TITLE:*

Stop the Culling of Stray Dogs in the Cook Islands - Support Compassionate Solutions Instead

*To:* The Government of the Cook Islands & Ministry of Agriculture

Kia Orana,

We, the undersigned residents and friends of the Cook Islands, are deeply concerned about the planned culling of stray dogs on our island.

We love our animals and we love our island. We understand there is a stray dog issue that needs managing, but culling is not the answer.

We petition the Government to:

*1. STOP the culling of healthy stray dogs.*
*2. IMPLEMENT a humane alternative:* A nationwide desexing (spay/neuter), vaccination, and rehoming program.
*3. GRANT a SPECIAL EXEMPTION / Guardian Status* to community members who are already actively feeding, sheltering, and caring for stray dogs. Do not penalize us for showing compassion. Allow us to register as voluntary guardians/caregivers so our cared-for dogs are protected.

Killing is not population control. Compassionate management and Education is.

Our dogs are part of our community. Let's show the world that the Cook Islands leads with kindness.

Meitaki Ma'ata,

Vini Patia Blundell
