The issue

As a senior equestrian, the breathtaking beauty of Australia and the rich cultural heritage depicted in "The Man from Snowy River" have deeply inspired me. These Brumbies symbolize freedom, the pioneering spirit, and the untamed beauty of our natural world. However, a shocking reality is unfolding, which threatens their very existence.

Currently, the Australian Brumbies are being subjected to extremely cruel aerial culls, funded by taxpayers, without proper consultation or consent from the Australian population. This brutal method has been approved by certain politicians, bypassing the collective voice of the people who cherish these iconic animals.

Countries like the UK and USA have successfully managed feral horse populations through alternative and humane methods. Yet, our government has not considered these viable options, opting instead for a heartless approach that causes immense suffering to these magnificent creatures.

The aerial culling approach completely disregards the value Brumbies hold, not only in our ecosystems but also as part of our national heritage. It is imperative that we explore and implement more compassionate and effective management strategies for Brumbies, such as fertility control and relocation programs.

We need urgent action to halt this cruel practice and bring forth a rational discussion about the future of our Brumbies, with input from communities, equestrian experts, and environmentalists. Together, we have the power to speak up for the voiceless and protect these animals.
