STOP The Croudace Greenfield Grab to build 125 houses

STOP The Croudace Greenfield Grab to build 125 houses
The Issue
Landowners and developers are ignoring the South Cambridgeshire Local Plan to try to build large-scale housing in the agriculturally productive fields behind Long Lane, Fowlmere. It is up to us residents to object in order to protect our status as a group infill village where small developments of 8 houses and exceptionally 15 are permitted. That does not mean 125 houses in green fields on Long Lane which are outside the village framework.
The Croudace proposal infringes planning guidelines and shows blatant disregard for our way of life. This development would destroy the rural approach to the village from the B1368, the A10 and the sweeping views as one descends (on foot) from the wood at the top of West Hill into Fowlmere or from the Fowlmere to Foxton road. Our ancient countryside public footpaths are to be cherished and not put in corridors on a housing estate where the plans show the possibility of 2.5-storey structures in the fields. There are many other issues such as the extra traffic, access and impact on sewage systems in a field that regularly floods.
What can you do to help? Most important is to object to the planning application – 22/02356/OUT on the SCDC planning website. Click here Greater Cambridge Planning - Croudace Application
Secondly please sign this petition to South Cambridgeshire District Council Planning Officers and the Planning Committee that you object to the planning application 22/02356/OUT to build 125 houses in Long Lane.
