I realize we're in the midst of a great crisis, and issues like seeking justice for human trafficking victims are stalled. But the Justice Department is blatantly snubbing those who seek justice in the Epstein case. Last Thursday, Ghislaine Maxwell filed a lawsuit against Epstein's estate in the U.S. Virgin Islands. She's OBVIOUSLY not too hard to find.
In the Epstein case, we have proven child sex trafficking, and the victims have also named procurers and perps. As a society, we have to bring the Epstein procurers and perps to justice, because children cannot be molested with impunity. If the Justice Department is indifferent to victims in a proven trafficking case, then there is little hope for the vast majority of victims. If the perpetrators in the Epstein case are allowed to go scot free, then all perpetrators are empowered.
When will the anti-trafficking community realize that Epstein's child-trafficking network is being covered up by the Justice Department and muster a little outrage? If we formed a coalition of organizations, and became ONE VOICE, then the Justice Department would have to act.
Edmund Burke said: "Evil flourishes when good people do nothing." If the Justice Department successfully covers up the Epstein trafficking network, then those who apathetically watched this travesty of justice play out, especially anti-trafficking organizations, will have allowed evil to flourish.
