Hi, everyone! As of October 10, the data center text amendment (Z-34-25) has been removed from the October 15 Livingston County Planning Commission meeting agenda per the applicant's request.
This means that, per the applicant's request, neither the data center rezoning nor the text amendment will be part of the Livingston County Planning Commission's October 15th meeting agenda.
What does this mean?
The proposal isn't stopped or over. Tis is just temporary. We will still need to be prepared for each monthly meeting and keep an eye out for updates on both the Livingston County and Howell Township Planning Commission pages. We will be sure to inform you of any updates here, as well as on our Facebook page: Stop the Data Centers - Livingston County, MI!
Should I still attend the meeting?
If this situation has taught me anything, it's that we - the community - need to be engaged and informed in local issues. While there will not be any data center-related proposals on the Livingston County Planning Commission Oct 15 agenda, is it never a bad idea to attend a meeting and be informed.
This also applies to the Howell Township Planning Commission and Howell Township Board monthly meetings - at the least, it is recommended to review their monthly meeting agenda's and full packets once published and determine if there are issues important to you. Refer to the links below.

What if I submitted a written comment?
If you were putting together a public written comment on the text amendment, that's great - hang onto it! You can submit it at a later date. If you already submitted a written comment, it's okay. You can resubmit your comment in the future, when the text amendment is back on the agenda.
What can you do in the meantime?
The agenda item may be paused, but our work continues! In the meantime, please continue getting the word out about the data center proposal to your friends, family, and anyone in your network.
Also, send a 'thank you' to your local leaders, including those on the Howell Township Planning Commission, Township Board, and the Livingston County Planning Commission. Public service can be a thankless job and our local leaders are navigating one of the biggest proposals to ever face Livingston County.
Take care of yourselves, keep spreading the word, and remain engaged. Thank you all for your commitment to our community!
