Stop the Construction of a Hotel Near Risen Savior Christian Academy on Quacco Road

The Issue

I am a resident of the East Haven neighborhood in Savannah Quarters, and an alarming development threatens our local peace and safety. A hotel is planned to be built across the street from Risen Savior Christian Academy and close to Legacy at Savannah Quarters. This proposed construction is deeply concerning to us local residents and for several reasons needs to be stopped.

Quacco Road is already plagued with heavy traffic and the new construction threatens to exacerbate the issue. As we struggle to navigate the congested roads, I cannot help but worry for the safety of the children at Risen Savior Christian Academy and the residents at the memory ward at Legacy. With the influx of hotel guests and vehicles, the danger becomes all the more imminent.

Not only is it a hazard to our children, but the proposed construction is set to be established near a memory care center. Imagine the potential distress and confusion the noise pollution might cause to these particularly vulnerable residents.

Beyond this, the building will be a stark visual interruption to our otherwise residential area. This could lead to a potential devaluation of our properties – a financial imposition none of us should have to bear.

With already limited parking capacity, we may soon find our residential streets bloated with parked cars. The peace and safety of our neighborhood shouldn't have to make way for a construction that can beneficially be situated elsewhere.

For the safety of our children, the peace of our elderly, the value of our properties, and the tranquility of our neighborhood, we strongly urge the relevant authorities to reconsider the location of this proposed hotel. Please, sign this petition to help us protect our community.

Please also show up at the next City Council Meeting on Feb 18th at 6 pm and let your voice be heard.
