The decision by Essex County Council to close visitor centres and cafes within our cherished country parks is not just a budgetary measure—it poses a significant public safety issue and strikes at the heart of our community's social and communal life.

These visitor centres and cafes serve as vital gathering spaces for families, local clubs, and community groups. The Friends of group and many within our community have voiced concerns and compiled evidence showing that Essex County Council has not fully considered the ramifications of closing these essential services.
