It has been recently announced that Natwest and Halifax bank branches in our community are scheduled to close in the near future. Tatton Labour Party believe this decision will have a significantly negative impact on our community members, particularly the elderly and more vulnerable individuals who heavily rely on these branches for their financial needs. These closures would mean no longer having convenient local banking, thereby creating an undue burden on those that need it most. According to Age UK, nearly 4 million (38%) of all people aged 65+ in the UK are not regular internet users, making traditional banking methods essential (Age UK, 2021). This is not just about maintaining a service, it's about ensuring that no member of our community is left behind in the name of progress. Therefore, Tatton Labour Party ask Natwest and Halifax to reconsider this decision, to consider the impact, and find alternatives to branch closures.
