After a decade of serving the community, Marks & Spencer is planning to close its store in Stoneywood. Marks & Spencer in Stoneywood serves a diverse clientele, including locals and travellers to and from Aberdeen. The store's location is strategic, making it an essential stopover point for many. Furthermore, there's a significant portion of our community that does not have access to private transportation. For them, this store, alongside the Co-op, is a crucial resource, especially during adverse weather conditions when travelling further is not an option.

The potential closure also threatens local employment and economic stability. Employees of Marks & Spencer and surrounding businesses rely on the footfall generated by the store. The ripple effect of this closure could lead to further economic decline and reduced job opportunities within the region.
