What happened to all the promises made by Mayor Steinberg and the City Council when it comes to the Measure O agreement? Wasn’t there something about parks, schools, daycare centers and natural streams being off limits?

Well, the city seems to have forgotten all that they said they would do. But we aren’t surprised. City of Sacramento’s 24-7 lies just continue on…

Once again, the City is being sneaky!

We have an important announcement to update everyone about.

The City of Sacramento has quietly added to its agenda for next week a consent calendar item- to tie the contract they have with Hope Cooperative to the Science Center Building. Currently, there is nothing in the Hope Cooperative contract that was approved in January 2022 that obligates -Or- connects the service provider with using that specific facility. It was actually REMOVED from the original agreement with the intent to allow for flexibility of services at ANY location in the City’s “Comprehensive Siting Plan” locations.

Sean Loloee specifically asked about this prior the the vote and Howard Chan clarified.
But don’t take our word for it watch it HERE

Even after the vote last July before city council to reinstate operations to full time, there was still NOTHING in the original contract (which expires on December 31, 2023)- tying the Science Center Building to a contract. So, the operation could possibly be moved elsewhere…out of the park!

Now, instead of engaging with the community the city is planning to lock in this location as a “year round triage center” and increase nightly guests from 50-100, EVERY NIGHT until December 31, 2023. When community members report issues to city 311, park rangers, or police our concerns fall on deaf ears. The common response is that they can’t do anything about enforcement of fires, camping in the natural habitat or acknowledge the increased dumping of waste needles or toxic substances in our waterway.

If you have a problem with any of this, make your voice heard!

Review consent calendar item #1, which can be found HERE
