For years NYC Economic Development Corp and industry Lobbyist, Eastern Region Helicopter Council spoke to the industry generating $50mil. Now they have down graded that amount to $33mil? WHY. For years and at a recent meeting of elected officials with FAA and NYC EDC leadership it was revealed that the $50 million figure was grossly overstated by this formula: 1 air tour tix price multiplied by a tourist's # of hotel night stays. So why would we believe this new $33mil figure. Can someone, anyone show us and verify the data????? Here is verification we got from Congressman Nadler's office, the Downtown Manhattan Heliport generates only $2 mil to NYC's economy.
