Stop the Chinese Xenophobic Attacks against Africans/African Americans/Black Minorities

The Issue

With Africans/African Americans/Black Minorities reportedly being forced and evicted from their homes by landlords and refused accommodation in any of the hotels around the city, it is high time we step up and do something.

Please sign and share as widely as possible.

There has been reports of xenophobic attacks against Africans/African Americans/ Black Minorities in various regions in China, particularly the South. There is also video evidence of these horrendous attacks on them.

Africans have become targets of suspicion and a lot of them have been evicted from their homes by landlords, turned away from hotels and are now having to spend endless nights on the unsafe streets where they are constantly harassedtaunted and beaten by the local Chinese.

Others are turned away from restaurants and supermarkets, while others are subjected to forced Covid-19 testing and arbitrary quarantining, despite not having any Coronavirus symptoms or any recent travel history outside China.

It is apparent that these minorities have been singled out for persecution and the local Chinese are not treating all foreigners in this same way; they have specifically targeted Africans/African Americans/Black Minorities.

These minorities are said to have suffered persecution from the Chinese in these regions prior to the Pandemic, which in itself is not acceptable, but it’s said that the Coronavirus outbreak has greatly amplified the hostility towards them.

Our concern is for the lives of these victims who are extremely vulnerable at this point in time. We fear for their safety. So far the Chinese government has not been seen to be taking any positive steps to intervene, caution its citizens, protect those concerned or compensate them for damages.

This is not an acceptable state of affairs!

I am calling on you to support, sign and share this petition as widely as possible.

Then together we will call on the UK Foreign Minister and the UK Government, who have subscribed to the the Universal Declaration of Human Rights to:

  • intervene
  • safeguard the lives of the victims
  • caution and hold the Chinese government and its offending citizens to account
  • and get them pay damages to the victims.

I am looking forward to your support on this extremely urgent and most delicate issue. Please sign the Petition for a speedy intervention, redress and compensation for the victims.

Please sign and share widely as possible.
