Effective Monday June 13th, 2022, Village Square Leisure Centre is changing their hours to closing at 6pm everyday. Village Square Leisure Centre is a community centre with many facilities such as a gym, basketball and badminton courts, and swimming pool etc. Many members have been using this community facility for over 20-30 years, and has been important for the community. There are members from all walks of life and ages, relying on Village Square Leisure Centre for their physical and mental health. This change will affect many members such as myself who use the facility in the evening to fit our daily schedules. Many members work during the day, or go to school during the day. This leaves members who are paying up to 70 dollars a month for their pass in a position where they will not be able to use the facility as they please. The purpose of this petition is to stop the change of hours for Village Square Leisure Centre occurring on Monday June 13th, 2022. If we do not use our voices to express our displeasure with the change of hours, then many of us members of the community and members of Village Square Leisure Centre will not be able to come and use any of the facilities at the expense of the community’s health and wellness.
