Spark has plans to start construction of a 5G capable cell phone tower in the Pirongia village within the next month. It is due to be erected at the rear of the gas station corner of Beechey and McClure streets. Placing it right next door to Pirongia school, also in a very close vicinity to Impressions Daycare, the local playcentre and next door to several residents. We are very concerned about the potential unknown health risks this could potentially expose the residents to especially the children whom will be going to school and daycare underneath it. As well as the potential health risks, residents are concerned about the potential devaluation of their properties. It is ethically unfair that spark has got to within a month out from planned construction of this tower and the community have only just been advised. Please sign this petition to help us put a stop to the tower going up in the central village and close to the school.
