Petition to Condemn the Chinese Communist Party’s Rewriting of the Bible and to Ban Its Entry into the United States

We, the undersigned, call upon the United States Congress to take immediate action to:

1. Condemn the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and/or any entity authorized by the CCP, for its egregious efforts to rewrite the Bible and alter the godly character of Jesus Christ.
2. Prohibit the import, sale, and distribution of any rewritten or distorted versions of the Bible produced or sanctioned by the CCP and/or any entity authorized by the CCP within the United States.

Background

The Bible, regarded as the holy scripture of Christianity by over 2 billion people worldwide, has long stood as an essential text for millions of American Christians. Recently, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has undertaken a disturbing and unprecedented project: to rewrite the Bible in a way that aligns with the Party’s political ideology and undermines its original spiritual teachings.

Among the CCP’s alterations is the portrayal of Jesus Christ not as the sinless Son of God, but as a figure twisted to fit the authoritarian narrative of the Chinese regime.

This radical distortion directly attacks the integrity of Christian doctrine, misrepresents the true teachings of the Bible, and seeks to control religious thought within China’s borders. But the impact of such a rewriting goes beyond China — it is an assault on the freedom of belief and expression that we hold dear in the United States.

Condemning the Rewriting of the Bible

The CCP’s actions represent an assault on global religious freedom. By altering sacred religious texts, the CCP not only violates the fundamental rights of Chinese citizens to practice their faith freely but also threatens to undermine the religious freedom of Christians around the world.

We strongly urge Congress to take an unequivocal stand in condemning the Chinese Communist Party’s rewriting of the Bible, and to express solidarity with Christians and other religious believers in China who are subjected to state-imposed restrictions and distortions of their faith.

Banning the CCP-Rewritten Bible in the U.S.

While religious freedom is enshrined in the U.S. Constitution, allowing the import of a blatantly distorted version of the Bible crafted by an authoritarian regime could undermine the sanctity of religious texts and freedom of faith. The rewritten Bible is not a genuine religious document; rather, it is a tool of propaganda designed to serve the interests of an oppressive state.

We, therefore, call upon Congress to enact legislation that bans the import, sale, and distribution of the CCP-rewritten Bible within the United States. Allowing this version of the Bible into the U.S. market could confuse believers and undermine the true teachings of Christianity.

Why This Matters to All Americans

The issue at hand is not just a matter of protecting Christian doctrine; it is a matter of defending the very principles of religious liberty and freedom of conscience, which are core to the American way of life. The CCP’s rewriting of religious texts poses a broader threat to global religious freedom and undermines the sacred right of all people to worship in accordance with their beliefs.

Our Call to Action

We urge the United States Congress to:

Pass a formal resolution condemning the Chinese Communist Party’s efforts to rewrite the Bible and distort the character of Jesus Christ.
Introduce and pass legislation that would ban the import, sale, and distribution of any CCP-rewritten Bible or any religious texts that have been altered by foreign regimes for political purposes.
Work with religious freedom organizations, churches, and international partners to raise global awareness about this issue and to protect the integrity of sacred religious texts from state-sponsored manipulation.

Conclusion

As citizens of a nation founded on the principles of religious freedom, we cannot stand by silently as an authoritarian regime distorts and rewrites one of the most sacred texts in human history. We must act now to ensure that the CCP’s rewritten Bible does not find a foothold in the United States and to protect religious freedom both here and abroad.
